Individual Therapy

You don't have to have it all figured out to ask for help.

Sometimes life feels heavier than it should. Sometimes you've been carrying something for so long you've forgotten what it feels like not to. And sometimes you just know that talking to someone — the right someone — could make a real difference.

At Iyashi Psychology, individual therapy is a space that belongs entirely to you. A space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and start building a life that feels more like yours.

We work with children, adolescents, and adults across all stages of life, and we bring genuine warmth, clinical depth, and a deep respect for the whole person — not just the presenting problem.

Our Approach

There's no one-size-fits-all in good therapy. At Iyashi Psychology, we draw on a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor our work to you — your history, your culture, your nervous system, and your goals.

Our practice is grounded in:

Trauma-Informed Care We understand that many of the things that bring people to therapy — anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, emotional dysregulation — have roots in experiences that happened long before the current moment. Everything we do is shaped by an understanding of how trauma lives in the body, the mind, and the patterns we carry across time

Culturally Responsive Practice Your cultural background, identity, and community aren't separate from your mental health — they're central to it. We work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and take seriously the ways that migration, intergenerational experience, acculturation, and identity shape how we feel, how we relate, and what healing looks like.

Neuroaffirming Practice We work with and for neurodivergent people. That means we don't treat ADHD, autism, or other neurological differences as problems to fix. We work with your neurology, not against it — helping you understand yourself, reduce shame, build on your strengths, and find strategies that actually fit your brain.

Evidence-Based Therapy Our work is informed by approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused modalities. We use what the research supports — and adapt it to what actually works for you.

Across the Lifespan

Iyashi Psychology works with clients at every stage of life.

Children & Adolescents Young people deserve a therapist who takes them seriously. We work with children and teenagers on anxiety, school difficulties, emotional regulation, identity, neurodiversity, family stress, and more — using approaches adapted to their developmental stage and always with family context in mind where appropriate.

  • Adults Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after years away, adult therapy at Iyashi Psychology meets you where you are — with no assumptions and no judgment.

Older Adults Later life brings its own particular joys and its own particular challenges. We work with older adults navigating health changes, loss, identity shifts, and everything in between.

You Deserve a Space That's Actually For You.

Therapy at its best isn't about being told what to do or having your experiences minimised. It's about having someone genuinely in your corner — helping you understand yourself more deeply and move through the world with a little more ease.

If you're ready to take that step, we'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
